Tony Archie Kim

Artist

I like space.
I like moments.
I like playgrounds.
I sculpt and create site specific, impermanent Art Installations.

Recently,

I’ve been making brittle structures.
I hear people calling them bones and webs – that makes a lot of sense.

Internally, I’ve been calling it ‘The Strength that keeps crumbling’.

Work

Definitions

Demolition: This is work done in abandoned homes. Interested in forgotten realms and imbued memories, I helped co-found Seattle Demo Project, a local organization invested in memorializing these forgotten structures. We aim to pay homage to the history of the place and create new life and memories from the space.

Site Specific: I make stuff for specific spaces, informed by the experience of the space, my architectural background, and internal narratives I string together through the space.
